Edutara is a private tuition service in India that matches one learner with one tutor. Lessons take place at the learner's home, as home tuition, or online, in English or Hindi. You describe the class or exam, the board and the subject, Edutara looks for a tutor who teaches exactly that, and the first lesson is a trial. Fees for lessons are agreed with the tutor and paid to the tutor directly.
Who can ask for a tutor
- School students from Class 1 to Class 12, on CBSE, ICSE / ISC and state boards such as UP Board, Maharashtra SSC / HSC and Karnataka SSLC / PUC
- Students preparing for JEE Main and Advanced, NEET-UG, CUET-UG, or a state CET such as MHT CET, KCET, AP and TG EAPCET and WBJEE
- College and university students who want help with a course, a paper or a semester exam
- Adults learning spoken English, preparing for IELTS, picking up a new language or building a skill for work

One tutor for one learner
Every match is one tutor teaching one learner, so the lessons can follow that learner's syllabus, pace and questions.
At home or online
Choose lessons at your home or online. Home lessons depend on finding a tutor who can travel to you, and online lessons work wherever you live.
About home tuition →English or Hindi
Lessons can be in English or in Hindi. The request form asks which you prefer, and Edutara looks for a tutor who teaches in that language.
Lesson fees go to the tutor
You agree the fee for lessons with the tutor and pay the tutor directly. Fees depend on the class, the subject and the city.
Who the tutors are
College students, graduates, retired teachers and teachers outside the school system. Section 28 of the RTE Act, 2009 bars teachers in schools from private tuition, so Edutara does not recruit them.

The first lesson with a tutor is a trial, and the learner continues only if the lessons work for them. If the trial does not suit you, you can stop there and ask Edutara to look for another tutor.
You agree the fee for lessons with the tutor and pay the tutor directly. Lesson fees depend on the class, the subject and your city. Edutara does not collect or hold lesson fees.
Yes. Edutara charges families a one-time matching fee and a small monthly fee for keeping the match working. You see the amount before you pay anything, and nothing is charged until you have seen it.
College students, graduates, retired teachers and teachers who work outside the school system. Section 28 of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009 bars teachers in schools from giving private tuition, so Edutara does not recruit serving school teachers.
Tutors never pay Edutara anything. There is no joining fee, no commission and no charge per student or lead, and that will stay the same. Applying is free, and after you apply you receive an email with the next steps.
Edutara is new. Reviews and ratings will appear on this site only when they come from real lessons, and until then the site shows none.
