What is Edutara?
Edutara is a private tuition service in India that matches one learner with one tutor. Lessons take place at the learner's home, as home tuition, or online, in English or Hindi. You describe the class or exam, the board and the subject, Edutara looks for a tutor who teaches exactly that, and replaces the tutor free whenever the match stops working. Edutara sets the lesson fee, bills you for it, and pays the tutor for every lesson taught.
Who can ask for a tutor
- School students from Class 1 to Class 12, on CBSE, ICSE / ISC and state boards such as UP Board, Maharashtra SSC / HSC and Karnataka SSLC / PUC
- Students preparing for JEE Main and Advanced, NEET-UG, CUET-UG, or a state CET such as MHT CET, KCET, AP and TG EAPCET and WBJEE
- College and university students who want help with a course, a paper or a semester exam
- Adults learning spoken English, preparing for IELTS, picking up a new language or building a skill for work

If the lessons suit the learner, they continue on a weekly plan. Edutara confirms the fee, sends one invoice, and pays the tutor for each lesson.

Every match is one tutor teaching one learner, so the lessons can follow that learner's syllabus, pace and questions.

Choose lessons at your home or online. Home lessons depend on finding a tutor who can travel to you, and online lessons work wherever you live.

Lessons can be in English or in Hindi. The request form asks which you prefer, and Edutara looks for a tutor who teaches in that language.
One fee, one invoice
Edutara sets the lesson fee from the class, the subject and the city, shares it when you enrol, and bills it by invoice. Edutara pays the tutor for every lesson taught.
Who the tutors are
College students, graduates, retired teachers and teachers outside the school system. Section 28 of the RTE Act, 2009 bars teachers in schools from private tuition, so Edutara does not recruit them.

A student or working adult can ask for themselves, and anyone can sign a learner up: a parent for a young child, a relative, an employer.
The learner continues with a tutor only while the lessons work for them. If a tutor does not suit you, after the first lesson or at any later point, Edutara finds another tutor for you free of charge.
Edutara sets the lesson fee from the class or exam, the subject, your city and home or online lessons, and shares it when you enrol, before the first lesson. You pay Edutara by invoice, and nothing is charged before you have seen the amount.
The learner pays Edutara, and Edutara pays the tutor for every lesson taught and confirmed. Money never passes from hand to hand, so a tutor never asks a learner for a fee, and the lessons, the tutor and a free replacement all sit under one invoice.
College students, graduates, retired teachers and teachers who work outside the school system. Section 28 of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009 bars teachers in schools from giving private tuition, so Edutara does not recruit serving school teachers.
Tutors never pay Edutara anything. There is no joining fee and no charge per student or lead, and that will stay the same; Edutara pays tutors for the lessons they teach. Applying is free, and after you apply you receive an email with the next steps.
