I am still studying at a college in Indore. Can I apply?
Yes. College students may apply, and the classes just below your own are the natural place to begin: a BSc student taking Class 10 science, a BCom student taking Class 12 accountancy. Edutara asks for no minimum qualification. What the learner looks at is whether you can explain the chapter and keep the slot you agreed to.
I teach at a school in Indore. Can I take tuition through Edutara?
The bar here comes from the law. **Section 28** of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009 stops a teacher serving in a school from giving private tuition, so Edutara does not enrol serving school teachers in Indore or anywhere else. Retired teachers are welcome, and so is anyone who teaches in a college, in coaching, or on their own.
Which boards will I be teaching?
Three, mostly. MP Board carries the state syllabus and a large part of it is taught in Hindi medium. CBSE is common in the schools of the newer eastern colonies. ICSE and ISC sit with a smaller set of schools. You say which of the three you are comfortable with, and which ones you would rather leave alone.
Do I have to teach in English?
No. A great deal of tuition in Indore happens in Hindi, because Hindi is the medium the learner will write the paper in. Other learners want the class in English so they get used to the language of the question paper. Both kinds of teaching exist in this city, and you take the kind that suits you.
How far will I have to travel for a home class?
As far as you say you will, and no further. AB Road carries Indore from Rajwada down to Rau, and the eastern colonies hang off MR-9 and MR-10. If the areas you name are Bhanwarkuan and Khandwa Naka, you will not be sent to Sukhliya for a seven o'clock class. Teaching online takes the travel out altogether.
What will I be paid for a class?
