What is an online Biology tutor job?
An online Biology tutor job at Edutara means teaching one learner over a live video call, working from that learner's own syllabus and NCERT textbook. Most sessions settle into two habits: drawing and labelling a diagram together on a shared screen or whiteboard app, then revising one chapter steadily until the learner can explain it back. Your learners are Class 11 and 12 students on CBSE, ICSE / ISC and state boards, and NEET-UG aspirants, for whom Biology makes up 90 of the 180 questions according to the NTA information bulletin for NEET (UG) 2026.
- One learner per live video call, working from their own NCERT textbook or board books
- Diagrams drawn together on a shared screen, then checked label by label
- Class 11, Class 12 and NEET-UG learners on CBSE, ICSE / ISC and state boards
- Written answers held up to the camera or sent as a photo for you to mark
- Every biology class offer shows its own rate up front
What a strong online biology tutor brings
Biology rewards the tutor who knows the chapters cold and can draw them cleanly on a screen. College students, graduates, retired teachers and tutors outside schools are all welcome.
Command of the syllabus
- Confident across the Class 11 units, from Diversity of Living Organisms to Human Physiology, which alone carries 18 of 70 theory marks
- At ease with Class 12 Genetics and Evolution, the heaviest CBSE unit at 20 of 70 theory marks
- Comfortable with lac operon, DNA fingerprinting, BamHI cutting sites and the pBR322 vector
- Familiar with the NEET-UG biology syllabus notified by NMC and the NCERT chapters it draws on
Diagram discipline
- Draws neat, properly labelled diagrams, the habit the CBSE sample paper asks for in its instructions
- Catches the label slips board examiners keep reporting, such as lobules against locules or epididymis against vas deferens
- Can sketch a floral diagram, a T.S. of a dicot root or the steps of recombinant DNA formation on a whiteboard app
Patience for steady revision
- Happy to return to one chapter across several sessions until the learner can teach it back
- Calm with NEET-UG aspirants who weigh every guess against minus one for a wrong answer
- Explains a pedigree chart or an ecological pyramid slowly, one step at a time
A setup that holds a diagram
- A laptop or tablet with a camera and a microphone, plus a connection that holds a video call
- A whiteboard app or screen share, and a stylus or mouse you can label with
- No degree certificate, no B.Ed and no years of experience are asked for when you apply

From application to your first biology learner
Five plain steps take you from the form to a live class. Nothing in between asks you to record a demo, sit a test or upload documents.
- Step 1 of 5A few minutes
Fill in the short form
Say that you teach biology online, which classes you are comfortable with and whether NEET-UG preparation is in your range. It costs nothing to apply.
- Step 2 of 5
Read the email with your next steps
An email reaches your inbox once your application arrives, laying out what happens next for an online biology tutor.
- Step 3 of 5
Your application is reviewed
The Edutara team reads what you wrote about your biology, your boards and the hours you can give, so the right learners reach you.
- Step 4 of 5
Meet a learner in the first biology class
Edutara puts you in touch with a learner who needs exactly the biology you teach, perhaps Class 12 genetics or NEET-UG human physiology. In the first class you find out which diagrams and chapters the learner struggles with.
- Step 5 of 5
Teach, log each lesson and get paid
Carry on with the classes you agreed, log every lesson after it ends, and Edutara pays you for each biology lesson you teach.

Questions online biology tutors ask
Straight answers about classes, diagrams, practicals, scheduling and pay for anyone who wants to teach biology over video.
Apply NowWhich classes and boards will I teach as an online biology tutor?
Mostly Class 11 and Class 12 learners on CBSE (Biology, code 044), ICSE / ISC (Biology, code 863) and state boards, along with NEET-UG aspirants. You tell us which of these you are comfortable with, and the learners who reach you match that range.
Do I have to coach NEET-UG to apply?
Board-only tutors are welcome. If you do take NEET-UG learners, know that Biology is half the paper: 90 of 180 questions and 360 of 720 marks under the NTA information bulletin for 2026, scored at plus four for a right answer and minus one for a wrong one. Biology marks are also the first tie-breaker, ahead of Chemistry and Physics.
How do I teach labelled diagrams over a video call?
Share your screen or a whiteboard app and build the diagram with the learner, one label at a time: an L.S. of the testis, a mature embryo sac, the formation of recombinant DNA with BamHI. Then ask them to draw it on paper and hold it to the camera or send a photo, and you check each label against the NCERT figure.
What about the 30 practical marks in Class 11 and Class 12?
CBSE gives 30 of 100 marks to practicals in both years: experiments, slide preparation, spotting, the record and a project with viva. Online, you can walk through OLabs simulations such as pollen germination on a slide or DNA isolation from spinach or banana, and rehearse the spotting list (meiosis slides, T.S. of blastula, pedigree charts, Cuscuta, root nodules) with photos and questions.
How does Edutara decide which learner I teach?
A learner, or whoever registers them, tells Edutara the class, board, subject and that the lessons are online. The team looks for a tutor who teaches exactly that biology and puts the two of you in touch. Your opening biology session with them is a regular lesson, and lessons carry on for as long as they work for the learner.
Can I fit online biology classes around my college timetable?
Yes. You state the hours you can give when you apply, and each class is agreed with those hours in mind. Because everyone in India shares IST, an evening slot in your city is the same evening slot for a learner anywhere in the country.
How does pay work for online biology classes?
Your biology learner settles the fee with Edutara, and Edutara pays you for each confirmed lesson you teach. The rate for that learner's classes is written on the offer you see before accepting, so you know it from day one. You collect nothing from the learner and pay nothing to join.
Which free resources help me teach biology online?
The NCERT Class 12 Biology textbook is online chapter by chapter, DIKSHA links the QR codes printed in textbooks to videos and virtual labs, and OLabs has a Biology Lab with Class 9 to 12 sections. Pulling one of these onto a shared screen turns a dry chapter into something the learner can watch and label.
Bring your biology to one learner at a time, on screen
If you can draw a clean floral diagram and stay patient through a third revision of genetics, there is a learner waiting for that skill. The form takes a few minutes.

- Paid for every lesson
