What is a JEE tutor job?

A JEE tutor job at Edutara is part-time, one-to-one coaching for an aspirant preparing for JEE Main, JEE Advanced or both. You take one subject, physics, chemistry or maths, and work through it with a single learner: the NCERT chapter first, then JEE-level problems, then the mock tests where marks slip away. Classes happen at the learner's home in your city or online by live video call, and Edutara pays you for every lesson you teach.

  • One aspirant per class, in physics, chemistry or maths
  • Built on the NCERT Class 11 and Class 12 textbooks and the NTA syllabus
  • Covers the JEE Main paper pattern and practice for JEE Advanced
  • Home classes in your city or online classes from anywhere in India
  • College students, graduates and retired teachers can apply
Requirements

What a strong JEE tutor brings

A JEE aspirant usually arrives with something precise: a chapter skipped in Class 11, a wrong integer answer in a mock, a unit that never clicked. These are the things that let you meet them right there.

Group 1

Command of your subject

  • Firm grip on physics, chemistry or maths across the full Class 11 and Class 12 JEE syllabus
  • Speed and accuracy solving by hand, since JEE Main allows no calculator in any form
  • The habit of building a concept from the NCERT chapter before raising it to JEE Advanced difficulty
Group 2

Feel for the exam

  • Working knowledge of JEE Main Paper 1: Section A multiple choice and Section B numerical value in each subject
  • An eye for careless slips, because a wrong numerical answer in JEE Main also costs a mark
  • Readiness to drill mixed question types for JEE Advanced, whose marking scheme appears only in the exam instructions
Group 3

Temperament

  • Patience with an aspirant who is stuck on rotational motion or organic mechanisms for the third week running
  • Honest, specific feedback after every practice set or mock paper
  • Steady attendance through the heavy months around the January and April sessions
Group 4

For online classes

  • A device with camera and microphone, and a connection that holds a live video call
  • A whiteboard app or shared screen for derivations, ray diagrams and graphs worked live

Why Join Us

Why coach JEE aspirants with Edutara

JEE preparation rewards a tutor who knows the paper from the inside. Here is what the work gives back to someone who does.

Put your own JEE preparation to work

Engineering students and graduates who sat JEE recently already know where the paper bites. That fresh knowledge becomes steady one-to-one teaching.

Classes that sit around your semester

The work is part-time, so JEE classes can be planned around your own lectures, labs and semester exams.

Doubt-clearing demand from October to May

JEE Main runs in January and April, Board exams fall in between and JEE Advanced follows in May, so aspirants lean on their tutors across this whole stretch.

One aspirant, your full attention

With one learner in the class, you can trace every mock-test error back to its chapter and fix it at that aspirant's own pace.

Aspirants in every corner of India

NTA's press release of 08 April 2026 lists JEE Main centres in 304 cities across India. Teach at a learner's home in your city or reach the rest online.

Edutara handles the billing

The learner pays Edutara and Edutara pays you, so every class stays about vectors, equilibrium and electrostatics, with no money changing hands at the desk.

9 questions answered
  1. Which JEE subjects can I teach with Edutara?

Physics, chemistry or maths for JEE Main Paper 1 and for JEE Advanced. You can apply for one subject or all three. Many aspirants also want help with the same subject for their Class 12 Board exam, so a tutor who handles both is very welcome.

  2. Do I need to have cleared JEE or studied at an IIT or NIT to apply?

College students, graduates and retired teachers all apply, and no degree certificate or years of experience are asked for. What counts is a confident command of your subject at JEE level and the patience to explain it to one aspirant at a time.

  3. How closely does JEE coaching follow the NCERT syllabus?

Very closely. NTA's JEE Main 2026 syllabus for Paper 1 has 14 units in mathematics, 20 in physics and 20 in chemistry, spanning Class 11 and Class 12 topics such as kinematics, electrostatics, electromagnetic induction, coordination compounds, vector algebra and 3D geometry. The NCERT Part I and Part II textbooks for each subject are the natural base, with JEE-level problems built on top.

  4. How does the JEE Main paper pattern shape the way I teach?

According to the NTA 2026 Information Bulletin, each subject carries 20 multiple-choice questions in Section A and 5 numerical-value questions in Section B, 100 marks per subject and 300 in all. A correct answer earns 4 marks and a wrong one loses 1, in both sections. NTA's notice of 02 November 2025 confirmed that calculators are not permitted, so manual calculation and checking integer answers deserve real class time.

  5. What does JEE Advanced preparation involve for a tutor?

The JEE Advanced 2026 Information Brochure describes two compulsory papers of three hours each, every paper with separate physics, chemistry and maths sections testing comprehension, reasoning and analytical ability. The marking scheme is given only in the exam-day instructions and some questions may carry negative marks, so practice across many question formats serves an aspirant well. Only candidates who qualify through JEE Main can sit it.

  6. When do JEE aspirants need a tutor most?

JEE Main 2026 ran in two sessions, January and April, and JEE Advanced 2026 was held on 17 May. NTA's examination calendar of 16 September 2026 proposes Session 1 of JEE Main 2027 for 22 to 24 and 28 to 30 January 2027, with dates marked tentative. That makes October to May the busiest stretch for doubt-clearing and test review, while offers arrive through the whole year.

  7. Can I teach JEE online if no aspirant lives near me?

Yes. An online class is a live video call with one aspirant, taught from their own syllabus and textbooks. You explain on a shared screen or a whiteboard app, and the aspirant holds written working up to the camera or shares it as a photo. A device with camera and microphone and a connection that holds the call are all you need.

  8. How are JEE tutors paid?

Edutara pays you for every lesson taught and confirmed, at the rate stated on the class offer you accepted. Each offer shows its rate before you accept it. The learner pays Edutara, so you never collect money from an aspirant.

  9. Can I fit JEE classes around my own engineering semester?

Yes. The work is part-time and each class offer comes to you to accept, so you can take on the slots your lectures, labs and exams leave free and keep the rest of your week for your own studies.
