What is a NEET tutor job?

A NEET tutor job at Edutara means coaching one aspirant for NEET (UG), the single entrance exam the NTA conducts for MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BUMS, BSMS, BHMS and nursing seats. You take the subject you know, from the NMC syllabus of 20 physics units, 20 chemistry units and 10 biology units, and work through it at the aspirant's pace. Biology, split into botany and zoology, is 90 of the 180 questions, so a strong biology tutor is in steady demand.

  • Biology carries 360 of the 720 marks, and its score is the first tie-breaker in the NTA bulletin
  • Every question is a four-option MCQ: +4 for a right answer, -1 for a wrong one, 0 if left blank
  • The 2026 paper ran in pen and paper mode for 180 minutes, in 13 languages
  • There is no upper age limit, so repeaters and older aspirants are part of the learner pool
  • NCERT Class 11 and 12 textbooks and NCERT Exemplar are free on the NCERT website for you and the aspirant

8 questions answered
  1. Can I apply to teach only botany, or only zoology?

Yes. Many NEET aspirants want help with one part of biology, often human physiology, genetics or plant physiology. Say on the form which units you are strongest in, and Edutara matches you with aspirants who need exactly that.

  2. Do I need to have cleared NEET myself to apply?

Your own NEET score is never asked for. College students, graduates, retired teachers and teachers outside the school system can all apply. What matters is that you know your NEET subject thoroughly and can explain it clearly to one aspirant at a time.

  3. Which syllabus do NEET classes follow?

NEET (UG) follows the syllabus finalised by the NMC's Undergraduate Medical Education Board, which the NTA hosts on its NEET website. It has 20 units of physics, 20 of chemistry and 10 of biology. Most tutors teach from the Class 11 and 12 NCERT textbooks and NCERT Exemplar, which are free to download from the NCERT website, and map each chapter to the syllabus units.

  4. Can I teach NEET in Hindi or another regional language?

Yes. The NTA bulletin offers NEET in 13 languages, and an aspirant who picks Hindi gets a booklet in English and Hindi, while a regional-language aspirant gets English and that language. A tutor who can explain a biology or chemistry term in both languages is valuable to these aspirants.

  5. Who are the aspirants I would teach?

Class 11 and Class 12 students preparing alongside their boards, Class 12 passouts taking a focused year, and older aspirants returning to the paper, since the bulletin sets a minimum age of 17 and no upper age limit.

  6. Are NEET classes at the aspirant's home or online?

Both. You choose on the form. Home classes take you to an aspirant near you; online classes run as a live video call with one aspirant, where you explain on a shared screen or whiteboard app and the aspirant holds written work to the camera.

  7. Can I fit NEET classes around my own college timetable?

Yes. You tell Edutara the slots you can keep each week, and the class offers you receive fit those slots. Evenings and weekends are popular with aspirants who also attend school.

  8. How does pay work for NEET tutoring?

Every class offer states its rate before you accept it. The aspirant pays Edutara, and Edutara pays you for every lesson you teach and log. You never collect money from an aspirant, and you never pay anything to join.
